This sounds like a title of a Doctoral Dissertation, and feels to me like I have bitten too far of a chunk making me choke instead of swallow, since it cannot even be chewed, far less being digestible in 800 words or less for an article.
But - to serve rather as a food (sic!) for thought, I take the same approach as I do with my DJ Mixes in the "sourcing stage". This is not about 'me' and 'my thoughts' only. I want to provoke this into a 'we' thingie. A conversation.
In other words: Thoughts half-baked, not even pre-fab, but as 'throwing out ideas not ready'. And build with some few components of the key tags in the subject line, along the way presenting relevant Top of Mind and sometimes Top of Google links. Breaking it down to something before a synopsis stage...
...for YOUR inspiration! Awesome links, right?
Intangible - means less matter and more mind, especially in combination with 'value'. Making it tough for those spread-sheet-only-minded accountants to wrap their heads around...bleh. If we could get it into the balance sheet in a proper manner, investing in intangible stuff would be good for natural usage, right?
Immaterial - towards factor infinity? Factor Four, Factor 10,Factor 10^100, Factor X? As in halving matter use, doubling output use. Could we move towards a product/experience/service/etc etc etc category that actually had ZERO matter use and giving INFINITE value doubled?
Inspirational - as in the direct filling of your Life Energy, your Ki, your Qi, your Chi, your Prana...Nature or Speaker, Book, or ... [?] - where I move is revealed by the next word. Experience!
Here, the most appreciated TED Talk through times [here is a list from May 2008], for those who missed it - and this is PURE inspiration / experience to view!
Experience - as in a concept that came and quite much disappeared - The Experience Industry. But it seems to live somewhere, at least - in India?Worth further digestion, Pine and Gilmore book maybe got exported there as a last resort :). Still, the conceptual frame has a value, related to the above. What do you pay for an experience? Recording Industry of America, how much have you paid for keeping a system legally, when an entrepreneur named Jobs packed into the iEverything coolness world? Download forever old frames into the grave, and upload the new business models for an industry twisting upside down.
MUSIC!
I love it. It is my Premier Passion. Been DJ'ing since I was 16 years old :).
Now I am fading out moving to ZERO words in the END - and I want you to EXPERIENCE my latest mix :). No, it is not just shameless self-promotion ;). I actually want to give you some LOVE!
:)
And ending with five links almost without my words as descriptor, just the links with titles and a snippet of thought:
Sustainable Production (collaborative more and more on the producers end) - Case: Soundcloud.com
Sustainable Investment (create a platform, let the users create the rest of the value) - Soundcloud.com :)
Sustainable Distribution (less matter more throughput - towards factor Infinity?) - use a Samsung mp3 player instead of iPod,or a Nokia music phone instead of iPhone? Let Greenpeace be the judge...and continue to download from Beatport, iTunes or [this suggestion censored and excluded by RIAA ;)]. Musicians, earn money from all the rest instead - concerts and clubs! But then go for sustainable events...
I think I've made that point by the above, so now I shut UP instead :).
And I let YOU be the judge when these 20-something tunes now have been blended all for the joint purpose to experience Joy of Life! I mean, in the sense of the socially sustainable impact, meaning increasing life quality and energy...
...I hope you get goosebumps at least at one 30 sec spot on the course of the 120+ minutes :).
PMS - Post Music Scritpum :) / Disclaimer: I wouldn't have written up this blog post if it wasn't for the fact that Jeff and Zig from OurWorld community happened to be regular guests of of my two virtual worlds Sustainopreneur's Café ( www.sustainopreneurship.org / http://sustainopreneurship.ning.com ) and DJ Anders - the Virtual Clubbing Experience ( http://djanders.ning.com with www.djanders.info shortcut to my profile ) here in the Ning Ecosystem ;) ...
Thanks dudez, this REALLY warms my heart and keeps my spirit going. It's like being on the dancefloor and the 'energetic unity' just increases the power in the room, that gets fed back to me and getting it into my way to feed it back to the crowd! THAT'S the way to REALLY crowd-source for a sustainable world...
...and viewing it in business terms, that's why I nominate the Creative Industries at large, those event-oriented especially, to be the most sustainable of all!
One 'brand' that emerged from this write-up was Factor Infinity. Never gonna be possible, since you use matter in one way or another, so like all 'zero visions' it will stay at Utopia. But since there is a sustainable level of C02 concentration - ref. www.350.org - maybe it could be cool just to have it as a pedagogic drive and a catchy tag for something collecting all industries where matter use is moving towards zero radically and disruptively, while value increases dramatically?
Just an open thought...
And, btw, the Ning platform is sooo very flexible to 'do whatever we can dream up', so, maybe we should 'dream big'?
What do you zay dudez ;) ?
Re: @Zig: focus on work - this is my work-a-music, look at my action map and you get what I mean http://actionmap.andersabrahamsson.info
Re: @Jeff: posting the videos right away! And strange that something with 120-135 BPM can gets you to sleep in that way? Not strange at all, in fact my daughter just being a few months old fell asleep like the baby she was then - now she's dancing like crazy becoming a kid @ soon two years! And singing... her fav right now is Sia - Electric Bird for the singing part...
...due to a commercial right now here in Sweden :).
Very cool stuff, Anders. Would be great if you could post the videos to the video section of OurWorld. And as for your music - man, I fell asleep on the sofa the other night with my headphones on. Haven't done that in 20+ years!
Anders,
While I'm studying I have your track list blasting from my laptop speakers. The music is incredible and I can actually feel the energy which is actually helping me focus on what I'm reading. When time permits I'm looking forward to checking out the two video's.
This is what a small earthworm raising facility looks like. For less than US$ 3000, we can build a facility like this on Christian's farm that with approximately 8 hrs. work per week we could feasibly generate some $ 15,000 in products every 60 da...
